Lacoste, official outfitter of the French Olympic team, has launched “Life is a Beautiful Sport”, an integrated advertising campaign timed to coincide with the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics and New York Fashion Week. “The Big Leap”, the commercial at the heart of the campaign, uses visual effects to connect physical performance with everyday life. A man overcomes his fears to show a woman he loves her, while he takes a plunge from a high building. It’s a metaphorical plunge into the unknown where there is no turning back and the outcome can only be known once the space between them is crossed.

Wolfgang Beinert ist ein deutscher Grafikdesigner und Typograf. Neben seinem Wirken als Theoretiker der Typografie wurde er insbesondere als Grafiker bekannt. So wurde er 2002 von Graphis New York zu den wichtigen europäischen Grafikdesignern gezählt. Seine Arbeiten wurden u.a. auf der Buchmesse Frankfurt, in der Ginza Graphic Gallery in Tokyo, auf dem London Design Festival und auf der Designweek in Istanbul ausgestellt. 2001 widmete ihm das Goethe-Institut Inter Nationes unter Hilmar Hoffmann als erstem Grafikdesigner eine Retrospektive. Wolfgang Beinert gilt als Kritiker der Werbe- und Designbranche. Er lebt, arbeitet und lehrt in Berlin. Zu seinen grafischen Auftragsarbeiten gehören z.B. das Erscheinungsbild für das Goethe-Institut Anfang der 1990er Jahre, seine Arbeiten für Leica, Chanel, amnesty international, Club of Rome und Gmund Büttenpapier. Beinerts Arbeiten gelten als „exklusiv, obsessiv, stringent, reduziert, feinsinnig und virtuos und sie zeichnen sich durch eine ungewöhnliche Detailliebe und aufwendige Produktionsverfahren aus“.Seine „Typo-Bild-Collagen sind dagegen eher Avantgarde“ und sind, wie der Designer Kurt Weidemann meinte, „stilistisch in den Bereich David Carson und Neville Brody einzuordnen“.Typisch sind seine länglichen Bildschirmformate im Panoramastil.

Push Pin Studios is a graphic design and illustration studio formed in New York City in 1954. Cooper Union graduates Milton Glaser, Seymour Chwast, Reynold Ruffins, and Edward Sorel founded the studio. After graduating from Cooper Union, Sorel and Chwast worked for a short time at Esquire magazine, both being fired on the same day. Joining forces to form an art studio, they called it Push Pin after a mailing piece, The Push Pin Almanack, which they self-published during their time at Esquire. Sorel and Chwast used their unemployment checks to rent a cold-water flat on East 17th Street in Manhattan. A few months later, Glaser returned from a Fulbright Fellowship year in Italy and joined the studio. The bi-monthly publication The Push Pin Graphic was a product of their collaboration. A distinctive quality of Push Pin's early illustration work was a three-dimensional line. Sorel left Push Pin in 1956, the same day the studio moved into a much nicer space on East 57th Street.[1] For twenty years Glaser and Chwast directed Push Pin, while it became a guiding reference in the world of graphic design. Today, Chwast is principal of The Pushpin Group, Inc. The exhibition The Push Pin Style traveled to the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Louvre, as well as numerous cities in Europe, Brazil, and Japan in 1970–72. Graphic designers and illustrators John Alcorn (in the late 1950s), Paul Davis (1959-1963), Barry Zaid (1969–1975), Paul Degen (1970s) and others spent time at Push Pin early in their careers.

Milton Glaser (b.1929) is among the most celebrated graphic designers in the United States. He has had the distinction of one-man-shows at the Museum of Modern Art and the Georges Pompidou Center. He was selected for the lifetime achievement award of the Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum (2004) and the Fulbright Association (2011), and in 2009 he was the first graphic designer to receive the National Medal of the Arts award. As a Fulbright scholar, Glaser studied with the painter, Giorgio Morandi in Bologna, and is an articulate spokesman for the ethical practice of design. He opened Milton Glaser, Inc. in 1974, and continues to produce a prolific amount of work in many fields of design to this day.

Die D-Modelle, allgemein bekannt als der bzw. die Citroën DS, ist eine Modellreihe der französischen Automobilmarke Citroën.
Bei seiner Vorstellung am 8. Oktober 1955 auf dem Pariser Automobilsalon erregte das lange erwartete neue Citroën-Modell bei Fachpresse und Besuchern Aufsehen, rief aber auch Irritation hervor. Als technisch vereinfachte und ausstattungsbereinigte Version kam im Frühjahr 1957 die ID-Modellreihe hinzu.
Die ID, DS, Pallas und Break genannten D-Modelle vereinten in bislang einzigartiger Weise avantgardistisches Design mit einer Fülle von technischen Innovationen und stellten eine Sensation dar. So wurde bei den D-Modellen zum ersten Mal bei einem Serienfahrzeug ein zentrales hydraulisches System für Federung (Hydropneumatik), Bremsen, Schaltung sowie Lenkunterstützung eingesetzt. Die avantgardistische Karosserieform ermöglichte dank guter Aerodynamik eindrucksvolle Leistungs- und Verbrauchswerte. Entgegen anfänglichen Bedenken erwies sich die aufwändige Hydraulik als dauerhaft funktionssicher und die gewagte Formgebung als zweckmäßig.
In ihrer 20-jährigen Produktionszeit wurden die D-Modelle in ihren wesentlichen Grundzügen unverändert produziert. Bis heute ist ihr Status als Technik- und Designikone unbestritten.
In der Zeit vom 4. Oktober 1955 bis zum 24. April 1975 wurden insgesamt 1.456.115 Fahrzeuge der D-Reihe gebaut.

Alapfy András (Budapest, 1954. november 9.) médiatervező, illusztrátor, fotóművész. - Mesterei Balogh István, Kass János és Jan van Keulen voltak. 1976 és 1980 között a Magyar Iparművészeti Főiskolán tanult, 1980-ban a bécsi Universität für angewandte Kunst, majd 1983 és 1987 között az amszterdami Rijksakademie van beeldende kunsten hallgatója volt. Magyarországon a Hungaroton, a Mokép, a Magyar Hirdető, a Műcsarnok, a Tungsram és a Hungexpo is megbízta különféle tervezési munkákkal. 1983-tól 1989-ig illusztrátorként dolgozott az amszterdami Holland Playboy, Avenue, Libelle magazin, illetve az ArtBox és az ArcherArt ügynökségeknél. 1989-től Münchenben él és dolgozik. 2004-ben rendezte Számítóképek címmel első önálló kiállítását a budapesti Millenáris Park Teátrum előcsarnokában.

The Moon

Abstract art uses a visual language of shape, form, color and line,' to create a composition which exists independently from visual references in the world. Western art had been, from the Renaissance up to the middle of the 19th century, underpinned by the logic of perspective and an attempt to reproduce an illusion of visible reality. The arts of cultures other than the European had become accessible and showed alternative ways of describing visual experience to the artist. By the end of the 19th century many artists felt a need to create a new kind of art which would encompass the fundamental changes taking place in technology, science and philosophy. The sources from which individual artists drew their theoretical arguments were diverse, and reflected the social and intellectual preoccupations in all areas of Western culture at that time.

Saab 900 Generation 1 (1978-1993) - Den första generationen Saab 900 såldes 1978-1993. Den hade när den kom stora likheter med Saab 99 och var i själva verket en större och bekvämare vidareutveckling av 99:an. På USA-marknaden kom flera återförsäljare att ha problem med begreppet ny då likheter med den gamla 99:an var så slående. Saab 900 spann vidare på halvkombi-konceptet och fanns i 3- och 5-dörrarsutförande. En sedanmodell introducerades som 1981 års modell.

1986 breddades 900-programmet då man lanserade en cabrioletversion som tillverkades i finska Nystad. Den öppna bilen innebar stora försäljningsframgångar framförallt på den viktiga USA-marknaden, den var, för att vara en öppen bil, väldigt ombonad vilket satte en ny trend och gjorde att den blev populär som året runt-bil. Fronten och stötfångarna bytte utseende på 1987 års modell. Saab 900 hör till Saabs genom tiderna mest välkända modeller.

Den första generationens Saab 900 förekom som sedan (2 dörrar från och med 1984 års modell och 4 dörrar från och med 1981 års modell), halvkombi (3 eller 5 dörrar) och öppen bil (2 dörrar, från och med 1986 års modell), med ett antal motoralternativ som alla var tvåliters fyrcylindriga bensinmotorer, men vars bränslematning (förgasare/insprutning/turbo) varierade. Dessutom tillverkades en 20 cm förlängd version av fyradörrarsmodellen, benämnd 900 CD, 1981-1986. Förutom det ökade utrymmet var denna version extra lyxigt inredd och fanns endast med turbomotor. Endast cirka 500 exemplar gjordes av 900 CD

Pilisborosjenőn él. Kézzel szövött faliképein geometrikus motívumokból építkezik. Textiltervezőként lakástextilek - függöny, bútorszövet és szőnyeg - tervezésével foglalkozik. A Moholy-Nagy László formatervezési ösztöndíj keretében tűzzománcból ruházati kiegészítő- és ékszer-termékcsaládot tervezett. A geometrikus formákat képviselő dekoratív tűzzománc elemek 1994-től szövött faliképein is szerepelnek: részben a falikép kompozíciójába applikálva, részben a faliképpel szerves egységet alkotó fa- vagy kőkeretbe ágyazva.

Michael Sowa (born 1945) is a German artist known mainly for his paintings, which are variously whimsical, surreal, or stunning. His paintings often feature animals and are titled in English and German. Sowa studied at the Berlin State School of Fine Arts for seven years and worked briefly as an art teacher before focusing entirely on his career as a painter and illustrator. A book of 50 paintings titled Sowa's Ark : An Enchanted Bestiary was published in 1996. He also illustrated Esterhazy, The Rabbit Prince by Irene Dische and Hans M. Enzensberger. He is the illustrator of The Little King December and A Bear Called Sunday, bothauthored by Axel Hacke. He was the cover artist for several albums, including Mad Season by Matchbox Twenty and two covers for The Beautiful South's Miaow and for their single Everybody's Talkin. He gained new followers for his work on the 2001 film Amélie where his art on the walls comes to life. Sowa contributes illustrations to the satirical German magazine, Titanic, and he also did the art work for magazine covers of several well-known periodicals, most notably the December 2, 2002 issue of The New Yorker. His art is widely available as posters, notecards, postcards, and calendars.
